Mediation is at the core of my private practice. My work over the past 15 years has been in dispute resolution. Facilitating a process by which people can identify and solve their own issues is a rewarding role. I assist people to be their own decision makers and to manage their own conflict. My strengths are my calm demeanour, my understanding of human nature and (as my College testimonial recorded 30 years ago) my "cheerful yet serious personality". My capabilities include the drafting of clear, robust and workable agreements. I have practised as a barrister in the civil jurisdiction working with businesses and families to get to agreement. Often times, mediation provides a much more enriched outcome than Court can manage to do. I have a Bachelor of Laws with the University of Auckland and a Business Management Diploma with the Auckland University of Technology. I am an accredited mediator with the Resolution Institute; a member of the NZ Law Society and the Family Law Section. I am a ministry of justice family dispute resolution provider and I work with the FDR Centre. My iwi is Ngati Maru of Hauraki and Tamaki Makaurau rohe. My belief in self determination for all people and peoples drives the work I do. I volunteer with the Citizens Advice Bureau and work with other community groups to contribute toward peaceful resolution.
