In 1999, her Master’s Thesis “Dissolution of Marriage: Public policy and the Family Apart” she identified the need for a flexible, informal, early intervention mediation service in family disputes to prevent escalation of conflict fuelled by adversarial legal processes. Subsequently she was a mediator on the Ministry of Justice Family Court Pilot in the North Shore Family Court during 2005-06.
Gaye’s experience as a mediator includes family, workplace, education, community, franchise, small business, and public policy sectors. She is currently researching towards a PhD about the management of workplace conflict and the early resolution of employment relationship disputes.
