Catherine graduated with a BA and LLB from the University of Auckland in 2005.  She also holds a Graduate Diploma of Business Studies (dispute resolution), a Postgraduate Diploma of Business Administration (dispute resolution), and is an Associate of the Arbitrators' and Mediators' Institute of New Zealand.  She was awarded a Senior Prize in Law by the University of Auckland and the DRSL Top Student in Mediation Prize by Massey University.

She was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2006.  In 2012 she was granted admission as an Attorney-at-Law in the Cayman Islands. 

Prior to starting her dispute resolution practice, Catherine gained a wide range of experience in commercial litigation matters both onshore and offshore, including four years in the litigation team at Russell McVeagh (Auckland), two years in the dispute resolution team at Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP (London), and four years in the litigation team at Mourant Ozannes (Cayman Islands). 

Whilst working in leading law firms both onshore and offshore, Catherine has gained extensive experience in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including fraud, insolvency, contractual, financial services, tax avoidance and regulatory issues. 

Catherine has also contributed to a number of publications including the second edition of Commercial Enforcement, the leading textbook on methods of enforcement of civil judgments, the Company Secretary's Review (Lexi Holdings (in administration) v Luqman and others, 3 September 2008), and INSOL World, 4thQuarter 2013 (Re Danka Business Systems Plc; Ricoh Europe Holdings BV & Ors v Spratt & Anor [2013] EWCA Civ 92, January 2015).  She has also issued published briefings on Interim Relief in Aid of Foreign Proceedings(Cayman Islands, November 2014) and In specie distributions – further guidance from the Cayman Islands Court of Appeal (Cayman Islands, May 2013).
