Nigel Dunlop

Nigel Dunlop is a barrister whose professional practice is now substantially devoted to acting as a mediator.

Additionally he sits on a number of statutory tribunals, investigates complaints, and arbitrates disputes. Nigel has been trained in mediation since 1993 by international experts. He has conducted well in excess of 500 mediations involving almost 3000 hours of mediation. These mediations have resulted in a 93% settlement rate. The subject matter of these mediations has been wide ranging, including civil/commercial, health and disability, domain names and family.
NIGEL DUNLOP
Nigel is an accredited mediator with AMINZ, LEADR and the NZ Law Society. He is a member of many mediation panels, including those established by the Department of Building, Innovation and Employment, Health and Disability Commissioner, Family Court, and Domain Name Commission. Nigel holds tribunal appointments from the Minister of Health, Retirement Commissioner, and Secretary for Education.

He has conducted investigations for the NZ Defence Force, NZ Police, Ministry of Education, Auckland Council and University of Otago. He is a past President of the Canterbury District Law Society and Council Member of the NZ Law Society. His 30 years of conventional legal practice was of a general nature, but included family and criminal law. He chairs the Complaints Committee of AMINZ.
